Headwear Care Guidelines

  1. Storage: Keep your headwear away from direct sunlight in a sealed box or container. Hats, being crafted from natural fibers, are susceptible to sun damage if exposed to the elements for extended periods.

  2. Storage Shape: When storing a hat, consider packing the crown with acid-free tissue paper to maintain its shape.

  3. Avoid Hanging: Avoid hanging your hat on hooks for extended periods, as gravity can cause it to lose its intended shape.

  4. Protection from Moisture: Protect your hat from moisture and rain. Natural fiber materials are often delicate and don't respond well to wet conditions. If your hat does get wet, gently remove excess water with a dry cloth and let it air dry naturally. Never use artificial heat, as it can lead to shrinkage.

  5. Drying Shape: To help your hat retain its shape while drying, find a hat-shaped form to rest it on or pack the crown with a pale-colored cloth.

  6. Lint and Dust: Keep felt hats clean by using handy sticky lint rollers to remove lint and dust.

  7. Handling: When handling brimmed hats, grasp them from the back of the brim rather than the crown to minimize distortion.

  8. No Washing: Do not attempt to wash, dry clean, or tumble dry your hat.

  9. Avoid Makeup and Sunscreen: Prevent contact with makeup and sunscreen as they can stain the headband.

  10. Headband Care: If the inner headband becomes damp from water or sweat, wipe away salt residues with a damp cloth and turn the headband outward to dry.

  11. Feather Caution: Be especially cautious with feathers, as they are easily damaged. Handle them with care to preserve their beauty and integrity.
